Spent last weekend in St Pete getting lots of little projects either completed or near complete.  One item that we have been fretting over is the life raft.  The Coast Guard wants the liferaft inspected and certified.  Sounds simple.  Its a boat, noting is simple.  I did get the radio installed.  Another easy job that took more effort than expected. Unless I spliced into the harness on the boat (which I did not), I had to cut the connector out of the old radio and solder new wires onto the old connector.  I got pins made for a sub min D connector and soldered them onto the wire harness that came with the radio...

Bla, bla bla.   Happy to report the radio works great and you can even make a blue tooth connection from your phone.  Happy with this change.

  2. I am the QA inspector. Heaven help us. A design engineer as the inspector.

We finally leave for St Pete on Saturday the 7th. Did not quite get on the water as soon as I would have liked. Still need to get the radar and AIS working properly. And to get everything stowed away that we have brought down over the past 3 months. I am not convinced it will all fit, but Lauren believes we will find a way. One of my biggest concerns is how we will store the dive compressor. And to use it properly. Evidently heat is a big deal and we need to make sure it gets lots of air. Lots of cleaning and prepping. Another task we have to learn is how to buff the boat. It is something we need to get good at.

We are going by the Alpharetta library to pick up some books and will be off to Florida.

  3. Lauren and I have spend some quality time together....

Couples that pressure wash together stay together, right?

Actually we have been working on the boat. Fixed one leak and found two others..Had an air conditioning guy fix one of the A/C units. Hopefully the freon he added stays in the system until we get back. Still need some work done on the two aft heads, a longer cable added for the radar, and the VHF/AIS connected to the chartplotter properly. Getting closer.
